Wow, what an incredible series this has been so far! We are hearing from several women, each with different experiences, and this week's guest has a lot of wisdom to share in leading yourself well.
My friend, Kelsi Timm, joins us this week and I have a feeling this will be an episode you'll want to come back and listen to again. Throughout this episode, Kelsi is championing us as women to lead ourselves well. One of many takeaways is, "As leaders, we cannot have a lack mentality. Women in Leadership - Ayana Dixon
Tuesday Dec 14, 2021
Tuesday Dec 14, 2021
My friend, Ayana Dixon, joins us on the podcast this week. I admire her in many ways and she added such value to this week's episode! Ayana made so many great points but I think one of my favorite comments she made was about balancing ministry and family.
Family is our greatest ministry. What a timeless reminder for anyone!
Ayana Robinson Dixon was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where she resided until the age of 18. She then relocated to the Washington, DC area to earn a B.A. degree from Howard University.
Ayana accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized on January 4, 1981. She rededicated her life to Christ in October 1998, and since that time has been on fire for the Lord.
She answered the call to ministry in September 2001, was licensed in May 2003 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Herndon, Virginia. She was ordained at Mount Pleasant on June 25, 2006. Ayana earned her Masters of Divinity degree at Liberty University. She loves teaching and working with children. Ayana worked with Charlotte Mecklenburg public school system for six years. She worked as both a Behavior Modification Technician and an 8th-grade teacher.
Ayana currently serves as the Co-Pastor of Agape Global Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Methuselah E. Dixon; Senior Pastor. She has owned and operated the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Charlotte-Mint Hill since April 2016. Ayana is the founder of the Circle 31 International Women’s Ministry and host of the Circle 31 Podcast. She enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Winning the War Within - Fear of Failure
Tuesday Dec 07, 2021
Tuesday Dec 07, 2021
In this week's episode, we're looking at a different side of the fear of failure. Often this conversation centers around being fearful of stepping out to embark upon something new, but this week we will talk about failed attempts and fearing to try again.
Unless the Lord has closed a door or ended a season, there is always a reason to try again! One of the main points I hope you walk away with this week is that in Christ, we don't fail in totality, we fail forward. If we allow it to be, failed attempts can be a great teacher!
Looking forward to connecting with you again this week!

Winning the War Within - Perfectionism
Tuesday Nov 30, 2021
Tuesday Nov 30, 2021
You and I were never created to live airbrushed lives. What a relief! Yet, many of us struggle to overcome perfectionism in many areas of our lives.
But there's great news! You can win the battle with perfectionism!
There will always be something we lack, need to grow in, or have further developed within us because we are not perfect people. None of those things disqualify you because perfection isn't the goal; progress is!

Winning the War Within - Don‘t Quit!
Tuesday Nov 23, 2021
Tuesday Nov 23, 2021
Two words - Don't Quit! Let's talk about overcoming the temptation to quit. In this vulnerable episode, I share how I've had to overcome that temptation recently and have a word in due season for someone to stay the course!
We are beginning a new series this week, Winning the War Within. What would happen if you started living as your authentic self - the way God created you? What would happen if you lived bolder in your faith? Took that faith-filled step? Gave that obedient yes to follow what the Lord has placed within you?
I think we all want to do those things, but often there is a battle within that holds us back. Things like the opinions of others, expectations, insecurity, difficult seasons, failure, etc., are some of the most common.
I'm excited you're here and to connect with you this week!

When Your Loved One Doesn‘t Share Your Faith
Tuesday Nov 16, 2021
Tuesday Nov 16, 2021
I have a special guest with us this week! Most people know him behind the scenes of She Rises, making all the things sound good, but he is pulling double duty as sound mixer and guest this week!
My husband, Tim, joins us this week, and together we share candidly about our early years of marriage, specifically about the years he didn't share my faith. It's such a great conversation, and it is our deepest hope and prayer that as we open up our lives just a little in this area, someone will be encouraged in their journey.
Don't give up on that loved one! Your prayers matter and God is at work!

Women of Faith Series - Huldah
Tuesday Nov 09, 2021
Tuesday Nov 09, 2021
In this fourth part of this mini-series, Women of Faith, we're looking at a woman named Huldah.
One of the things I love about Huldah's story is that she doesn't have a lot of Scripture given to her, but her life impacted the world around her and she left a powerful legacy. A legacy people still admire today. The fact that she doesn't have a lot of space given to her in the Bible encourages us that we don't have to large followings, be well known, or have large platforms to be an effective woman of faith!
I'm excited to connect with you this week in the fourth and final episode of this series! Drop me a comment, add a few stars, and tag me on the socials and let me know what you liked about this series!

Women of Faith Series - Deborah
Tuesday Nov 02, 2021
Tuesday Nov 02, 2021
Deborah is next up in the Women of Faith Series. Preparing for this episode encouraged my own faith!
There is so much to unpack in Deborah's story! She left us such a powerful example, as have the others in this series, that if we allow the Lord, through His Spirit, to shape us we can effect change in the world around us!
I'm excited to connect with you again this week! Push that play button and let's begin!

Women of Faith Series - Esther
Tuesday Oct 26, 2021
Tuesday Oct 26, 2021
What a great mini-series this is! This week we're looking at another woman with strong faith - Esther. You might be familiar with her story but I believe this episode will be like the others in this mini-series - impactful!
The Lord is famous for raising up imperfect people, who have flaws and weaknesses and using their lives to do extraordinary things! Esther is one of those people. She was a seemingly nobody, but with the Lord, everyone is someone.
If you're liking this series, would you take thirty seconds to leave a few stars? Let's help reach more women with these messages!
